Momentum Arts and Adults

We connect unemployed people (aged 16+) with exciting training and work-based learning opportunities, many of which are accredited, through our skills-led creative arts projects.

Our current projects in this area are:

Team East for Skills

A quick summary.

Momentum Arts provides a varied programme of training for adults of all abilities. We work closely with participants, using the creative arts as a means to develop key skills, unlock potential and raise levels of self-esteem.

A little more detail.

Our Team East for Skills (Into Work through Arts, Sport and Volunteering) programme has seen us work across the breadth of the East of England with many people and partners. The programme, now in it's third year, provides workshops using creative elarning techniques that aim to support and invigorate those who have become distanced from the job market. We create a safe, yet inspirational space for people to reflect on their talents and abilities. Individuals are given the opportunity to investigate new ways forward and identify valuable training that can be tailored to their own needs.

Some more information about our projects and the experiences of those who have taken part.

Momentum Arts structured but flexible delivery format means that participants are provided with a tiered range of activity. Our initial engagements enable people to attend further courses and they are often matched with a progression coach to support them into appropriate training and progression pathways. Many people find our workshops give them the confidence to take on a volunteer role, which not only builds self-esteem, but can sometimes result in a paid position. This commitment to the participant ensures that not only will they have increased their skills base and life skills but, in doing so, their ongoing employability.

The workshop has offered me the chance to bring all my skills and experience to the table with a hope to generate and discover opportunities for a career in the arts.” David, Participant.

“The talks on volunteering and in-depth discussions on the art project helped me open up my mind!” Karen, Participant.
