Momentum Arts, a member of the Creative Learning in Partnership (CLIP) consortium, provides and delivers alternative ways of learning and creative personal development to re-engage learning using visual, digital media and performing arts.

In partnership with Cambridgeshire and Peterborough secondary schools, Cambridgeshire Locality Youth Service, Peterborough 14-19 Youth Service, Ormiston Children and Families and Wisbech Rosmini Centre, we deliver work based learning, alternative curriculum activity and creative intervention with young people (14-16 years) deemed to be at risk of not going into education, employment and training (NEET).

These short intensive 2-5 day motivational courses led by professional creative Momentum Arts facilitators, focus on developing employability skills, re-engaging learners in education and, in doing so, provide motivation and inspiration for positive career and further education choices including those within the creative industries.

Achievements and Outcomes

  • Since 2007 we engaged 185 young people (16-25 yrs) deemed to be Not in Employment, Education or Training developing their employability skills and supported their positive progression with partners.
  • Since 2009 we engaged with 350 learners (14-16 yrs) deemed to be at risk of NEET of which 20% achieved a Level 1 qualification Bronze Arts Award or ASDAN and 95% are now EET having progressed into education, employment or training.

Yr 9–11 learners took part in a range of work related learning activities including:

  • The creation of Welcome, a digital art mural on permanent display at Wisbech Rosmini Centre,
  •  Year 11 students at Thomas Clarkson Community College produced a short film based on their experiences and future aspirations which was showcased at The Luxe Cinema in Wisbech
  • The production of a film based on experiences at Grafham Water Centre with the Fenland U Year 11 Transition programme in 2010.
There have been many more positive outcomes. Read our Case Studies to find out more.
The contact is funded by the Learning Skills Council and European Fund to December 2010.
