Embrace the Arts - Final Evaluation Report

Momentum Arts believe that participation in creative and cultural activities can have a significant impact on the lives of young people and their communities. In partnership with Cambridgeshire Locality Teams in East Cambridgeshire and Fenland and funded by Cambridgeshire County Council, Momentum Arts delivered Embrace the Arts, a cultural programme of activity using creative learning.

This 2009-2011 programme comprised of three strands including the creation of a strategic cultural consortium to champion culture, a tailored training programme for youth workers (to promote confidence in the use of creative skills) and creative arts projects for young people aged (13-19 years) which contributed to the Every Child Matters outcomes.  Embrace the Arts was completed in June 2011. Over the two year project lifespan we delivered the following:

  • Engaged over 300 young people in creative and cultural learning activities

  • Supported 75 learners working towards Level 1 qualifications including Bronze Arts Award

  • Trained 45 Young People's Workers and tutors as Arts Award Advisers

  • Delivered 8 Arts Award Courses and created new Arts Award Centres in Soham, Ely, March, Wisbech, Whittlesey and Witchford

  • Delivered 5 creative arts training workshops including Creative Learning Techniques with Young People and Global Citizenship Using the Arts

  • Supported partnerships between Locality Youth Teams, District Councils, arts organisations and the voluntary sector.

  • Created Cambridgeshire Cultural Youth Offer Film which documents and evaluates the countywide cultural youth offer activity.
